Over the last few months, a lot has been happening regarding
our show that benefits The Lili Claire Foundation. As you may be aware, this non-profit
organization assists children and young adults living with neurogenetic
conditions, such as Autism, Down syndrome, and Williams syndrome, that may
affect their physical, intellectual, and behavioral development. To better assist these children, and the
families who love them, The Lili Claire Foundation opened The Lili Claire
Family Resource Center in Las Vegas. This incredible facility, located in the
Danny Gans building, offers diagnostic genetics and behavioral clinics and
counseling, with their partnership with the medical professionals at the University
of Nevada School of Medicine (UNSOM).
In March of 2008, we received a proclamation declaring May
27th, 2008, as Gasoline Alley Day. This
proclamation was signed by Governor Gibbons to recognize the fundraising
efforts of Gasoline Alley's Birthday Bash.
The proclamation has been posted on the State of Nevada Website and,
based on conversations with the Governor's staff; this is first time a car show
has been so recognized. In April, we
also received U.S. Congress Congressional Recognition from Congresswoman
Shelley Berkeley that commemorates our support of the Lili Claire Foundation
Family Resource Center in Las Vegas. Everyone
associated with Gasoline Alley's Birthday Bash is absolutely thrilled, and
humbled, to be the recipient of such prestigious recognition.
Similar to previous years, we will have numerous vendors and
exhibitors, plus a wide variety of activities, including poker walk, drawings
for raffle prizes, as well as surprise guests.
We are also currently confirming attendance by the Shriner Clowns,
Nevada Highway Patrol, and Sin City Crusher Monster Truck!
We have also received numerous items for our second annual live
action being held Sunday, May 25th, at Eldorado Park, including
Magnaflow Performance Cat Back Stainless Steel exhaust system; set of four
tires from Tire Works; golf packages; dinner and show tickets; professional
photo shoot of your vehicle; and a wide variety of NHRA autographed
memorabilia, including a crew shirt from Greg Anderson! In addition to cash or personal check, we
also accept major credit cards.
In addition to a wide variety of items for traditional drawings,
we are also holding a special drawing for a weekend getaway at a major property
located on the Las Vegas Strip. The
weekend getaway will include 3 day/2 night stay, dinner for two, and tickets
for a great show! To quality for this
amazing weekend getaway, all you have to do is register your vehicle for
Gasoline Alley’s Ninth Annual Birthday Bash and be present when the drawing is
held Sunday afternoon at Eldorado
Park.
We are currently working with local media groups for pre-
and post- event publicity, with event coverage being provided by Dave Wadsworth
Photography and Hot Shot Studios. We
have recently completed the design on very unique trophies for this year’s
event, including a jaw dropping, one of a kind, trophy for Best of Show.
We are pleased to announce that Ms. Lynn Hubbard from the
National Street Rod Association (NSRA) will be conducting vehicles inspections at
Eldorado Park, a great way to obtain the coveted NSRA 23-Point Safety
Inspection Sticker!
In summary, this year’s event has the potential to be the
biggest ever, both in number of participant vehicles as well as funds generated
for our charity partner, The Lili Claire Foundation. If you have already registered for Gasoline
Alley’s Ninth Annual Birthday Bash, thank you in advance for your support and
please tell at least two other friends about our event. If you haven’t yet registered, please do so
at your earliest convenience.
