Indiana Jones Storms Into EMA’s Video Hall of
Fame

VEGAS, NEVADA (June 25, 2008) … Nineteen
exceptional DVD titles were honored
with Home Entertainment Awards last evening. 300, the Spartan war epic, was the sole
multiple winner, collecting awards in the “High-Definition” and “Rental Title of
the Year” categories. In addition, Raiders of the Lost Ark was inducted
into the Entertainment Merchants Association’s (EMA) Video Hall of Fame. The
awards were presented by the Entertainment Merchants Association
(EMA) at a ceremony in Las Vegas, Nevada, held as part of
EMA’s Home Media Expo 2008. The Expo is currently taking
place at the Palms Casino Resort.
Raiders of the Lost Ark

next to Casablanca, The
Godfather,
Grease, and Scarface in the Video Hall of Fame, which
recognizes movies that have continued to perform well in both video sales and
rental over an extended period of time. Home entertainment retailers and
distributors that are members of EMA select inductees to the Video Hall of Fame.

Also at the Home
Entertainment Awards show, Ed Begley Jr. was honored the “Humanitarian of the
Year,” Ben Stein received the “Freedom of Expression” award, Cam Gigandet was
named “Rising Male Star,” Henry Jaglom was given the “Independent Career
Achievement,” and Happy Days’ Don
Most and Anson Williams were hailed as “Legendary Television Duo.” Other award
winners include: Jon Chu, Josie Davis, Pauly Shore, and Charlene Tilton. The show was
hosted by popular comedian and actor Jamie Kennedy.
EMA’s Home Media Expo, sponsored by EMA and produced by Home Entertainment Events, is
being held June 24-26, 2008 at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada. The event is open to trade and press
