Confab Mixes Discussions of Consumer Preferences and New Technologies,
Presentations by Leading Entertainment Suppliers, and Appearances by
Celebrities
LAS VEGAS, NV--(Marketwire - July 16, 2007) - This year's convention for the
home entertainment industry, EMA's Home Media Expo, 2007, taking place today
through Thursday at the Venetian Resort Hotel Casino in Las Vegas, promises to
highlight the significant changes and growth taking place in the home media
industry while providing plenty of opportunities for attendees to meet
celebrities from the motion picture, television, and recording industries. In
addition, approximately 130 exhibitors will be presenting their newest DVDs and
other entertainment products and services. EMA's Home Media Expo is the annual
convention of the Entertainment Merchants Association (EMA).
The educational sessions of the Expo will feature consumers discussing their
preferences in entertainment and discussions of new delivery technologies and
the future of entertainment retailing.
The opening day of the show will be capped by the Home Entertainment Awards
show, where EMA will announce the winners of its annual Home Entertainment
Awards for outstanding home entertainment products. In addition, at the awards
show Ernest Borgnine will be honored for "Sustained Creative Achievement," Jon
Favreau will be given the "Independent Career Achievement Award," Katt Williams
will be named "Rising Entertainer of the Year," and FunnyorDie.com will be
tapped as "Creative Website of the Year." The show is to be hosted by popular
entertainment reporter and game show host Todd Newton. Following the awards
ceremony, the night will conclude with glitz and glamour at the "Under the
Starz" gala at the Palm's Moon Nightclub.
Throughout the Expo, various celebrities will be greeting attendees and
promoting their upcoming DVD releases.
