May 6, 2008 - San Jose, Calif., - eBay Inc. (Nasdaq: EBAY; www.ebay.com) today extended an invitation to developers, affiliates and entrepreneurs to tap into the largest ecommerce opportunity on the Web at Chicago's McCormick Place West convention center from June 16 to 18 for its sixth annual Developers Conference.

The eBay Developers Conference 2008 will feature industry thought leaders and innovators such as Tony Hsieh, CEO of Zappos.com; Mike Shaver, chief evangelist for Mozilla; Adam Gross, vice president of platform and developer marketing at Salesforce.com; John Donahoe, CEO and president of eBay Inc.; Rajiv Dutta, president of eBay Marketplaces; James Barrese, vice president of systems and architecture at eBay; and Max Mancini, eBay's senior director of platform and disruptive innovation. Speakers will address the importance of open platforms in improving user experience, boosting customer loyalty and engagement, and helping entrepreneurial developers monetize their applications by taking advantage of the leading e-commerce API platforms on the Web -- eBay, PayPal, Shopping.com, ProStores, and Skype.

Conference sessions will feature basic to advanced technical and business sessions, as well as a hands-on Code Lab staffed by eBay product and technical support engineers to help developers build ecommerce tools, widgets, solutions, or services and extend their online businesses. The tracks include: Business and Entrepreneurship; Affiliate and Buyer tools; Seller, Merchant, and Payment Tools; and Web 2.0 and Web Development. Individual sessions cover topics such as social networks and ecommerce, fighting fraud with PayPal, the eBay Platform Product Roadmap, and improving application-level security.

Registration for the eBay Developers Conference 2008 includes admission to eBay Live! 2008 (June 19-21), also at Chicago's McCormick Place West.
