LAKE PLACID, N.Y., Aug. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Ice Capades(TM) makes its triumphant return to Lake Placid, NY on August 16th 2008. The all-new Ice Capades is a reinvention of a treasured brand, paying homage to the legendary troupe of Olympians, jugglers, clowns, comedians, barrel jumpers, and chorus girls -- plus many new surprises.

JoJo Starbuck, two-time Olympian and three-time U.S. champion has signed on as Artistic Director for the new Ice Capades.

Ice Capades(TM) has an amazing and colorful history spanning nearly 70 years. Past performances have included The Wizard of Oz, Babes in Toyland, Circus on Ice, as well as routines ranging from Disney to Broadway. A nine-week run in Russia in 1961 only confirmed Ice Capades as an entertainment brand that could cross all boundaries, entertaining the world. Ice Capades is now about to be remade, revived and recast for the 21st century in all media by Entertainment Holdings and Red Brick Entertainment in association with Edge Entertainment. This special event is being presented with the cooperation of the Olympic Center.

The Ice Capades team will be conducting auditions for their live shows and new reality TV program slated for the 2009 season on Saturday August 16th, 2008 from 8:00am to 5:00pm at the Olympic Center in Lake Placid, NY. Those selected to participate in this first of several preliminary rounds will be introduced on August 16th on the Ice at 7:30pm as part of the Citizens Bank Saturday Night Ice Show: featuring Ice Capades at the Olympic Center - 1980 Rink Herb Brooks Arena.

JoJo Starbuck will be joined by a prestigious dais of judges and feature acts for this ultimate "Reality-On-Ice" program.
