Joe Heck to Challenge Dina Titus for Congress

Las Vegas -Earlier today emergency room physician Dr. Joe Heck announced the start of his campaign to represent Nevada 's 3rd Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives.
"Over the last several months countless Nevadans have approached me urging me to run for Congress. I am increasingly alarmed at the Democratic policies coming out of Washington D.C. and the direction our country is heading. We must take action now to put our country back on a responsible track and I'm running for Congress to end the out-0f-control deficit spending and government-takeover policies that are literally bankrupting this nation's economy and future" said Dr. Heck.
Heck continued, "The Nancy Pelosi policies my opponent has supported in Congress are flawed, ill-advised and ineffective. Unemployment is at record high levels and still climbing eight months after passing the Democrats' stimulus package. These politicians passed a spending plan, calling it 'stimulus,' but have mortgaged Nevada 's future as a result. It's outrageous. We need jobs today, not 18 months from now."
"As Nevada 's next Congressman I will fight to stop over-reaching proposals like a government takeover of healthcare. I will be a voice for effective government, not big government. I will be a voice for fiscal responsibility, not tax and spend."
"I bring the real world experience necessary to be an effective, commonsense leader in Congress. I've faced real world challenges, while my opponent's only taught them or looked at them from a government committee. I've created jobs, while my opponent's only regulated them. I've met a payroll and a budget while my opponent's solution has been to raise taxes and increase deficit spending. There are dramatic contrasts between me and Dina Titus and I look forward to this campaign and presenting my vision for a better Nevada to the voters of this great state," Heck concluded.
Dr. Heck has extensive and unique qualifications that will make him an exceptional representative for Nevada 's Third Congressional District.
- National Security: Dr. Heck is a Colonel in the Army Reserves who has served tours of duty in support of operations in Bosnia , homeland security, and, most recently, in Iraq
- Healthcare: As an Emergency Room physician Dr. Heck is on the front lines of our healthcare crisis each day and battling the issues plaguing our nation's healthcare system.
- The Economy: A small business owner, Joe has had to face the challenges of this economic downturn like millions of other Americans.
