LAS VEGAS,
NV (May 29, 2008) – The largest master-planned development in North Las
Vegas has made considerable construction progress since breaking ground in
January of 2007. At 2,675-acres, the development continues on despite the
downturn in the economy and in spite of the failure of one of its original
landowners to meet its financial commitments. DRHI, Inc. a subsidiary of D.R.
Horton “America’s Builder” is being sued for breach of contract.
Yesterday
November 2005 Land Investors, L.L.C., a Nevada limited liability company, a real
estate venture among Olympia NLV Associates, L.L.C. and entities representing
local homebuilders American West Homes and Astoria Homes, as well as a division
of the national builder Standard Pacific Homes, together with project manager
Summerset Development Services, L.L.C., filed a lawsuit against DRHI, Inc. and
D.R. Horton, Inc.
The suit was prompted by the
failure of DRHI to meet contractual obligations in regard to infrastructure
funding said Mark E. Ferrario, Senior Partner of the Law Vegas law firm of
Kummer, Kaempfer, Bonner, Renshaw & Ferrario, which has been retained as
lead litigation counsel to represent the plaintiffs. “My client is concerned
about DRHI’s failure to meet its financial obligations,” Ferrario added.
The other
members of Park Highlands are current on their obligations to fund the
development of Park Highlands and remain united in their intent to implement
their vision for the project despite DRHI’s non-performance.
