Ward 2 Councilman Steve Wolfson will play host to a town hall meeting and information fair at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 29, at Veterans Memorial Leisure Services Center, located at 101 Pavilion Center Drive, next to Palo Verde High School.
The event will include an identity theft prevention presentation and information tables for a large variety of local organizations, including: Republic Services, Aztec Communications, Habitat for Humanity, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, SolarGenerations, International Suicide Prevention and many more. City departments will also be on hand to provide information on programs and services, including Fire & Rescue (offering free blood pressure checks), Building and Safety, Detention and Enforcement, Field Operations, the Office of Business Development, Planning and Development Department and KCLV Channel 2.
Residents are encouraged to bring any documents they need shredded, or items they would like to donate, as Opportunity Village will be on site with its confidential shredding service and a donation truck.
The Blind Center of Nevada will be accepting donations of old computers, monitors and printers. The organization is the largest e-waste recycler in the state of Nevada. Its recycling and re-use of computer equipment keeps old machines from going into our landfills.
“This is a great opportunity for Ward 2 residents to gather information on a variety of services offered by the city of Las Vegas, and other organizations throughout the city,” Councilman Wolfson said. “I encourage all residents to attend.”
