Southern Nevadans to recognize World Water Day
By Springs Preserve
Posted: Feb 22, 2008 - 4:39:00 PM

The Southern Nevada Water Authority encourages you to take part in World Water Day at the Springs Preserve on March 22, 2008 from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The event, including admission to the Springs Preserve exhibits, is free.

Surrounded by the natural beauty and serenity of the Springs Preserve's trails, enjoy a 2-mile walk to commemorate World Water Day.

At 2 p.m., the Preserve will present a special screening of the documentary "Running Dry," which was inspired by the late Senator Paul Simon's book "Tapped Out." The documentary focuses on the severity of the global water crisis and is narrated by actress Jane Seymour.

During your visit, join the pledge to drink only water for two weeks. Then, donate the money you would have spent on soda, coffee and other beverages to Water for People, which strives to bring safe drinking water and sanitation throughout the world.

Visit SpringsPreserve.org for more information or call (702) 258-3888 to RSVP for the event.
