F.A.Q. Frequently Asked Questions.

What is a "FACTOID"

We use this term to describe an article or report which is factual in nature, but, purports to have studied what a third party has done or thinks. In more basic terms - it is an article about THEY or THEM not US or I.

Why post articles from around the world?

Although you and I may think the resolution to an issue is pretty cut and dry - the view of other counties, cultures and religions vary greatly. It may help you, form your decisions, strengthen your position or just help you understand the "other side."

Why don't you post the results of opinion polls - especially regarding elections?

Actually - we do post the results of opinion polls - WHEN and IF - the questions are also available to be posted. You see, if you don't know exactly HOW the question was asked and in what context - the answer can be ...well...suspect! For example:

I do not know anyone, politician, military personnel, civilian etc...in their right mind that wants war. I also know some of those very same folks would support the Iraq war, or WWII or the Korean war etc... So I could be 100% correct in reporting that my poll showed that 100% were against the war - OR - that 20% supported the war! If you don't know the question - the results can be nonsense!

Why do you post the same story - but written by different sources?

Well, just as we post stories from around the world - sometimes a sources "slant" can be different from another's! So, the New York Times which has a tendency of being extremely liberally in it's observations & therefore conclusions can have a very different take on a story than say Fox News which has been known to be very conservative. By giving you both "takes" on a story - YOU the reader have not only more information - but have the ability to look at both sides of the issue and make your own decisions

You post a lot about teens in the factoids section...this is vegas what do I care about teens?

Doing any long range planning for your business? Do you care who is going to be your customer next year? If so - then HELLO - teens this year are your customer next year. Learn about them today, keep track of them, find out what's turning them on now - and you'll be that much further ahead when then do come knocking!

In the Election section - you have three categories - Candidates, Coverage and Opinion what's the difference?

Articles in the CANDADATES category are those which feature the speech, writings or videos of or by the candidate him/herself or that has been specifically authorized by the candidate.

Articles in the COVERAGE category are those produced by a news organization about the candidate. It has not been authorized or in anyway influenced directly by the candidate or his/her organization - AS FAR AS WE KNOW.

Articles in the OPINION section are just that - those produced by a third party endorsing, scrutinizing, or other wise opinion about the candidate.
