Did you know that…

In 2050, up to 16 million Americans will have Alzheimer’s disease, creating an enormous strain on the health care system, families, and the federal budget.

Yet there is no national plan on how to deal with this looming crisis.

Two weeks ago, the Association and our Congressional allies worked to introduce the National Alzheimer’s Project Act (NAPA) in the House (H.R. 4689) and the Senate (S. 3036).

We are thrilled that due to the work of our advocates we already have 21 cosponsors in the House and 14 in the Senate. If enacted, NAPA would establish a National Alzheimer’s Project Office and inter-agency Advisory Council responsible for creating a national plan to overcome the Alzheimer’s disease crisis. This is a much needed step in the fight against Alzheimer’s. Stay tuned as we will be communicating about this priority much more in the coming months.

Note from Kensei: Not one of  the Nevada delegation is on board with this legislation!  I find it amazing that Read,  Berkley and Titus can support the so called “Health Care Reform” legislation – but when a detailed piece of legislation like this comes along – with specific goals, plans, milestones etc… – we don’t hear a peep from them!  Maybe they can simply “deem and pass” this legislation too – but then again – unlike the so called Health care reform legislation – they shouldn’t be embarrassed to support this legislation.  Simply Amazing!

What Can I Do Now?
