About Kensei

Kensei aka – Mike D’Amore – is an individual said to be of great moral and martial character – whose vocation is not the taking of life the giving of life and the furthering of society based on tolerance, peace and harmony.  He vows not to forget war in times of peace – nor that peace is the goal of war!

Tired of the far left, far right, centrists and every other radical viewpoint seemingly taking over the Internet, the TV, newspaper, radio and everything else that I watch and listen too – I decided to open this op/ed section to try and spread SOME sanity out there – and to insure that at least another rational argument is added to these discussions.

First – really about me!

This is Mike D’Amore aka “Kensei”, of Henderson, Nevada – well, not FROM Henderson – I’m actually from Connecticut. I did a 12 year stint in Southern California – and moved here in 2002. I am the founder and Managing Director of Kensei Consulting LLC, publisher of the Las Vegas TSG and SinCity-247 sites.

The short version of writing about me…is to admit ignorance, fend stupidity, and dodge brilliance.  All which I have done very successfully throughout my lifetime.  Why admit it to the world now?  Only the god Lord Knows the punch line to that joke – a quest he has set me on for the second ½ of my life!

The Longer version…

For reasons that will ONLY become clear if you keep up with this blog – you need to know – that I am:

• A White Male – old enough to know better – still to young to care
• Self Un-Employed – actually now “official disabled” – but we won’t get into that now.
• Married to the same woman Alice (Erdos) D’Amore since 1977
• 4 Children – Jennifer, Michael, Kimberly, Jacklyn
• 2 Grand Children – soon to be 3
• 2 Cats
• 2 Cars in a three car garage
• A Registered Republican – only because I lean that way more than any other – and more importantly – they don’t send out as much junk mail as the Democrats.  I spoke to someone out here who is a registered Independent – and he receives a forest worth of junk mail from all the parties blitzing Nevada.  I’ll stay registered a Republican and save some trees!
• An X-Smoker (3 Packs a day)
• An X-Drinker (Scotch, single malt)
• Medical Demons:  I have been blessed with what I call “medical demons”  that have been inflicted upon me to make my life interesting.  Thankfully none of them are not serious enough that they require a body part be removed, or that will kill me any time soon – but that do make life on a daily basis a royal pain in the ass!  These include as of last count…COPD, Obesity, Sever Sleep Apnea, High Blood Pressure, Carpel Tunnel (both wrists), Polythycemia, Depression, Peripheral Neuropathy, and Early On Set Dementia. I’ll explain a little bit about each of my demons elsewhere – but needless to say – I have more doctors than any one person deserves – or should have.

As I tell my friends I am living proof that God has a sense of humor other wise he would never have let me move to Henderson – think about it – a place that I could have finally smoked and drank and partied and gambled to my hearts continent – only to have taken that all away from me soon after I arrived.  I must admit – I did have too much fun for one man the first 50 years of my life – so he must want me to do something else for the next 50.  I REALY wish he found a better way of tell me that – but who am I to argue?

Historically I traveled extensively – as in every state in the union sans Alaska. I have visited most of the Prefectures of  Japan, the the great countries of the UK, the EU, and Asian ports of call.  I have sadly visited third world countries, dined with millionaires, and princes – and drank myself silly with paupers and thieves!

Why the postings?

Well – to be truthful, my demons have given me the luxury of watching more TV, and reading more “views” on the net than I have ever had before. – and to tell you the truth – it’s scary!!! The Far (fill direction in here) has really gone to far and seem to ruining this great country of ours.  The centrists?  Well – they waffle more than a weebles on a fishing trawler in 50 ft seas! PLUS the far left and the far right have been getting better and better at blocking their view -  hiding what’s really going on – the real meaning of their words behind their backs!

So this blog is my attempt at bringing a little sanity to the discussions – and maybe just maybe a little smile into everyone lives who come upon my rants.  I mean no offense, I mean no harm and what I say – means nothing to anyone but me.
