Federal/state Primary Elections Are “Closed” In Nevada
In Nevada, Federal/State Primary Elections are CLOSED. That means if you chose Democrat or Republican as your party on your Voter Registration Application, you may vote only for candidates from your own party and you may also vote in nonpartisan contests. If you chose a party affiliation that was anything other than Democrat or Republican, you may vote only in nonpartisan contests.

Taxation without representation was just ONE of the many things the founders fought against – and the way you get representation is to cast your vote! One Vote – One Man or Woman, over the age of 18 by election day has the right to vote in any federal, state, county or city election. A fantastic resource for voting in formation is the United States Election Assistance Commission web site at: http://www.eac.gov There you will find everything you need to know about voting in the U.S. in 6 different languages last I checked. If you are already registered to vote – but need to find your voting location – simply visit the Nevada Secretary of State’s web site at: https://nvsos.gov/votersearch/ and fill out the short form and find out where to vote in seconds.
If you are not registered to vote yet – and would like to register via U.S. Mail – simply download, read and follow the directions and fill out this form from the United States Election Assistance Commission.
