Samsung is bringing its flagship phone Samsung Galaxy S7 this year with some brand new features.
According to Ecumenical News, Galaxy S7 will have 5.5-inch screen but it will not be a curved variant. Tech experts were predicting a dual-edge screen variant for the S7. But Galaxy has considered this feature for its other flagship phone Galaxy S7 Plus which is also arriving this year.
Samsung will launch two S7 models, including a model that measures 143.37 x 70.8 x 6.94 mm and is very similar to Galaxy S6. The other one is said to be 163.32 x 82.01 x 7.82mm phone, similar to the size of Galaxy Mega 2, according to GSM Arena.
The home button will be in round replacing the usual rectangular button. The SIM slot will be moved on the side. With these two features, Samsung is trying to make its Galaxy S7 different from its earlier product Galaxy S6.
According to Ubergizmo, Samsung S7’s casing will be made from magnesium instead of aluminum. If this is going to be true then Samsung S7 can absorb vibrations and shocks much better than its predecessors. An additional advantage is it will not affect radio waves’ transmission as much as the aluminum body does. This feature will change the appearance of the phone. Moreover, since magnesium is expensive, few Samsung lovers are wary in including this feature.
Samsung Galaxy S7 will reportedly arrive in five different colors—black, violet, purple, red, and blue. According to Christian Post, Galaxy S7 will include Snapdragon 820 chip and 4GB of RAM. A 20-megapixel camera with optical image stabilization and phase detection will enrich your experience of photography. There are hopes for micro SD card slot. It also offers an improved fingerprint scanner, quick charging, Type C USB port. The battery life will be far better from the other Samsung products.
Samsung is planning to release this phone in February or March. iPhone 6c will be its tough competitor.
