Wine Spectator recently announced Restaurant Guy Savoy at Caesars Palace as one of three restaurants to be honored with the 2008 Grand Award for cuisine, service and its exceptional wine list. Wine Spectator’s Grand Award program honors wine lists and selections in all 50 states and in more than 50 countries. The upscale eatery is one of only five restaurants in the Las Vegas area ever to have been selected for the distinguished international honor. Restaurant Guy Savoy joins 72 other restaurants from around the globe that have received this recognition since the 1981 launch of Wine Spectator’s Grand Award program. Selected this year in addition to New York restaurants Alto and Del Posto, Restaurant Guy Savoy was praised for its “exceptional cuisine, service and ambience” and the restaurant’s wine cellar for its outstanding classic Bordeaux and Burgundy wine selection.
Restaurant Guy Savoy’s sommelier skillfully oversees a vast wine cellar of over 2,000 references, ensuring that each dish can be paired with an exceptional vintage, whether it’s a luscious white Burgundy or delicate Champagne. When creating the wine list, General Manager Franck Savoy worked side-by-side with Caesars Palace Director of Wine & Spirits Stuart Roy to develop a unique portfolio that would emulate and complement the wine list created by Guy Savoy and Eric Mancio of Restaurant Guy Savoy in Paris. Although the Caesars Palace restaurant features many older vintages as well as modern French bottles, the wine list drifts to other parts of the world with astounding insight. All of the award-winning restaurants will be listed in the annual dining guide in the August 31 issue of Wine Spectator. For reservations at Guy Savoy, call 877-346-4642. For parties of 10 or more, call 866-462-5982.
