LAS VEGAS – March 7, 2008 – MGM Grand’s Crazy Horse Paris and special guest judge, Dita Von Teese announced the winners of the cabaret’s first ever American auditions at Tabú Ultra Lounge Thursday, March 6. More than 50 dancers vied for a spot in the elite dance troupe, but after a three-day audition process, four women were chosen to join the Crazy Horse Paris family. The winners are Kara McKinney from Roanoke, VA; Krystle Richeson from Virginia Beach, VA; Elena Lee Rodriguez from Miami, FL and Polina Volchek from Las Vegas, NV. The winners will be flown to Paris, France, where they will receive formal training for two months before joining the dancers on the famed Crazy Horse Paris stage.

Each of the women chosen have come from different cities around the United States but their common bonds have been their love of dance and admiration for Crazy Horse Paris. Kara McKinney recently graduated college with a double major in International Studies and Film & Photography. With no professional dance background, she auditioned for the show on a whim. Krystle Richeson’s resume included a three-year stint as a Radio City Music Hall Rockette before quitting the business to gain a degree in business management. The Crazy Horse Paris auditions is the first show she had tried out for in more than three years. Lee Rodriguez is originally from Barcelona, Spain and is half Korean and half Spanish.

She had heard about the auditions a few days prior to the start and dropped everything to take part. Polina Volchek, who is a native of Moscow, Russia, is a competitive rhythmic gymnast and can be seen performing a variety act in the upcoming season of “America’s Got Talent.”

This will mark the first time American dancers have become a part of the internationally renowned Parisian dance troupe. To become a member of the renowned cabaret is to become a part of its history. Since its inception in 1951 in Paris, Crazy Horse has been a cultural phenomenon offering unique shows that engage the eye as much as the imagination. Crazy Horse shows rely on raw body talent and beauty rather than technology and combine sensuous choreography with various luminary and projection effects to create a moving canvas of skin, where reflections and images meet in a kaleidoscope of colors and textured designs. With the success of the Crazy Horse in Paris, the creators decided to open a second show in the entertainment capital of the world, Las Vegas, in June 2001.

MGM Grand’s Crazy Horse Paris performs nightly at 8 p.m. and 10:30 p.m., dark Tuesdays. Guests must be at least 18 years of age to attend the show. Ticket prices begin at $49 including tax and can be purchased at MGM Grand ticketing outlets, by phone at (702) 891-7777 or online at www.mgmgrand.com.
