ENCINO, CALIFORNIA (May 5, 2008) … The Entertainment Merchants Association ( EMA) today announced the nominees for this year’s Home Entertainment Awards, which recognize the success and excellence of home entertainment products. The family favorite Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix and the action thriller Transformers each garnered four nominations. Following close behind, 3:10 to Yuma, Live Free or Die Hard, and The Simpsons Movie collected three nominations apiece. Winners will be announced during EMA’s Awards Show on June 24, 2008 at the Palm Resort Hotel Casino in Las Vegas, NV.

“The home entertainment industry has consistently delivered exceptional entertainment at affordable prices which is why DVD remains the most popular way for Americans to view movies,” said EMA President Bo Andersen. “The outstanding content and diversity of DVD product is reflected in this year’s nominations, and we congratulate our nominees.”

This year’s awards consist of 100 nominees covering 20 categories. The studios with the most nominations are Warner (18 nominations), Paramount (16), Fox (13), First Look (8), and Disney, Genius, and Universal (7 each).
