PASADENA, CA, June 21, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Picking up where the Rat Pack left off in the 60s, Douglas Roegiers, Dave Cox and a variety of performers transform the Pasadena Jazz Institute into a swingin' lounge on the first Thursday of every month, while benefiting Hillsides, a foster care children's charity that serves children and families in crisis living in Los Angeles County, including Pasadena. Next performance will be on Thursday, July 2, beginning at 8:30 p.m.

Far from a show full of impersonators, these guys (and dames) pay homage to the great American crooners by bringing their own brand of style and entertainment to the stage monthly.

Hosting the event, Pasadena Jazz Institute is inviting guests to see the Swank Pack with special guests: the Magician Dave Cox, the Crooner Douglas Roegiers, the Lovely Suzy Williams, the Roegiers 7-Piece Orchestra and Host Ash "Ace" Brown.

"We became aware of Hillsides through Cathy Brennan, whose daughter, Stephanie, is engaged to Dave Cox," said Borwn. "We thought that it would be great if we could both entertain people and help out a worthwhile charity like Hillsides, that's doing so much good work for children."

The foster care children's charity receives a portion of the ticket sales that come from Hillsides members, supporters, and friends.

"Music is an integral part of therapy for our children," said John Hitchcock, the children's charity executive director.

To have supporters such as the Pasadena Jazz Institute and the Swank Pack donate proceeds of the evening will assist in providing much-needed services to foster care children who have suffered from traumatic experiences in their early childhood.
