The Isaac Mizrahi for Target Spring 2008 collection has arrived, bringing with
it inspiration from all over the globe and providing an escape from winter woes.
Mizrahi continues to define affordable luxury, offering stylish solutions for
any woman and any destination.
Begin the voyage through spring’s
warm-weather occasions with a collection of assorted fashion-forward pieces that
are anything but predictable. Known for timeless staples, Mizrahi creates suit
separates, trousers and jackets that are versatile for women on the go, and
include boot-cut denim trousers, a cropped metallic jacket and a seersucker
dress with grosgrain detailing. A toile-print coat in silver and a swing trench
in khaki are sophisticated toppers for breezy spring days. Unexpected accents
modernize simple silhouettes: bows are incorporated into pleats on an A-line
skirt, and a crew-neck tank is covered in sequins. Horizontal black and white
stripes make a long cardigan look edgy and hip while a bright paisley-print
tunic is ideal for an exotic locale.
Dresses remain a significant trend
for spring and transition effortlessly from day to night. This season’s
must-haves are fashionable and fun, including a 3/4-sleeve black-and-white
leaf-print tunic, an Indian-inspired fuchsia V-neck dress with gold detailing
and an embellished white shift dress with pom-poms on the hem. A sleeveless
colorblock dress is on trend and makes a statement in three bold shades of navy,
light blue and green. Flowers are in full bloom on the runway this season and
this look is reflected in two key dress silhouettes: a wrap with a romantic pink
and green rose print and a bright yellow, pink, fuchsia and gold flowered
A-line. A solid white halter V-neck with eyelet trim is refined and elegant,
conjuring images of tea time on the English countryside.
Sporty is chic
with a polo dress incorporating bright pink and orange horizontal stripes or a
sleeveless white V-neck dress with a pleated skirt and gold-edged neckline. A
double V-neck sweater pairs well with a tennis skirt or cuffed shorts in white
with gold piping to create a sharp look both on and off the court.
Mizrahi’s assortment of handbags, shoes and sunglasses stylishly finish
off any look; it’s almost impossible to pick a favorite. Whether trendy and
adventurous or traditional and subdued, any fashion personality can customize
her ensemble with items such as a leather metallic silver clutch, vibrant yellow
shoulder bag with patent straps or black and white tote with gold accoutrements.
Updated shoe classics include a loafer with tassel detail in solid white or
yellow and a metallic ballet flat in silver. For a more up-to-the minute look,
metallic t-strap sandals in silver or bronze can be paired with a casual dress
or dressy trousers. On a tropical getaway, shield the sun in style with
sunglasses available in all shapes and sizes to add a touch of glam.
Known for his charismatic persona and witty style, Mizrahi has won four
Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) awards. Exploding onto the
fashion scene in the late 1980s, Mizrahi’s idea of seasonless dressing has
become the foundation of his design sensibility – his designs are not trend
driven, so women can combine looks from different seasons to build a classic
wardrobe for every occasion.
