Reno Resident Wins Largest-Ever Bingo Progressive at John Ascuaga’s Nugget

Reno/Sparks, Nev. – The largest bingo progressive jackpot in the history of John Ascuaga’s Nugget was won today by Reno resident Mary Withers. One of literally thousands of players who have been “chasing” the Cash Ball Progressive recently at the Nugget, Withers was “on” to her progressive number of O-68 midway through the second game of the 1 p.m. Party Bingo session, and was lucky enough to complete the designated pattern first to win the pot of $17,353.
“I don’t think I was breathing for a while. I slumped down shocked in my seat and put my hands over my face. My friend had to fan me because my cheeks were rosy,” said Withers, describing the moment she won. “This is very, very exciting. I’m here almost every day. This makes me get up and come in. The people here all know me and I get to see all of my friends.”
Withers, who is “in her 70s,” plans on doing something fun with her family with the extra money.
“This is the biggest progressive jackpot I’ve seen,” said Stephanie King, Nugget bingo manager. “It’s been twice as busy as usual for the last three or four weeks. We’ve had lines out the door. It’s been very exciting down here.”
The Nugget Bingo room offers daily games at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 2:30 p.m., 4 p.m., 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Pack buy-ins vary. Participation in the Cash Ball progressive game is only $1 additional per pack. The progressive resets at $100.
