LAS VEGAS – AAA, one of the nation’s most trusted travel sources, has honored 23 MGM MIRAGE hotels and restaurants with its esteemed Four Diamond Award. The rating recognizes superior service and refined surroundings.
The Signature at MGM Grand, a luxurious all-suite resort, is one of only two first-time hotel winners in Las Vegas for 2008. Located in three distinct towers, The Signature offers the ultimate in personalized attention in a serene, non-gaming environment, just moments from the excitement of the Las Vegas Strip.
MGM Grand has received this respected distinction for the second year in a row. Additionally, the property is home to seven AAA Four Diamond restaurants – L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon (2), Fiamma Trattoria and Bar (2), Craftsteak (2), NOBHILL (3), SEABLUE (3), Shibuya (3) and Pearl (3). Combined with the 2008 AAA Five Diamond SKYLOFTS (2) and Joël Robuchon (2), MGM Grand has the most AAA Diamond Award winners under one roof than any other hotel in the United States, Canada, the Caribbean and Mexico.
“MGM MIRAGE has been one of the cornerstones of the effort to build Las Vegas into the tourism capital of the world,” said AAA Nevada spokesperson Michael Geeser. “Once again, the gaming giant has proven its style and service is worthy of prestigious AAA Diamond ratings. The influential distinction is a real testament to the effort its employees put in each day at some of the most recognized resorts in the world."
Down the famed Las Vegas Boulevard, Mandalay Bay (8) and THEhotel at Mandalay Bay (4) also received elite Four Diamond status. The hotels boast four Four Diamond restaurants – Aureole (8) and Fleur de Lys (3) as well as first-time winners StripSteak and miX in Las Vegas.
“To earn a Four Diamond Award, restaurants must be upscale in all areas and offer patrons a wide selection of fabulous food and wine,” Geeser said. “By earning a Four Diamond Award, these restaurants have proven they offer a distinctive fine dining experience, outstanding service and delectable menus.”
At Bellagio, AAA again honored four restaurants with this prominent ranking – Sensi (2), Jasmine (2), Prime Steakhouse (3) and Shintaro (3). Four Diamond Awards also were bestowed on The Mirage (18), Treasure Island (9) plus Monte Carlo (2) and its famed French restaurant Andre’s (4).
AAA evaluated hotels and restaurants across the United States, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean throughout a 12-month period, and these AAA Four Diamond establishments are among only 3.2 percent of the 60,000 that were Diamond Rated®.
