Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Gardens

Bellagio’s Conservatory & Botanical Gardens ushers in the 2008 Chinese New Year, the Year of the Rat, with a spectacular new exhibit. The delightful centerpiece is a 5-foot-tall rodent perched on an oversized, flowering branch. The auspicious rat’s luxurious coat is made of red Alternanthera, a low-growing herb, with a touch of pink Hypoestes, a tropical plant. Just steps away, an 18-foot-tall Chinese God of Wealth and Fortune stands amidst golden lucky coins. Visitors also enjoy the quiet serenity of a tranquil Koi pond. The brightly colored carp swim in multiples of eight, considered the most fortuitous number in the Chinese culture. Guests are invited to celebrate the Chinese New Year in Bellagio’s Conservatory & Botanical Gardens January 14 through March 15.
