Sparks/Reno,
Nev. – A $2
million remodel of the West Parking lot was recently completed by John Ascuaga’s
Nugget. A comprehensive renovation, the project began in September 2007, and now
serves as a gateway to the entire downtown Sparks area, including the Nugget, Victorian Square and
the redevelopment activities occurring in those
areas.
To
commemorate the opening, the public is invited to a Grand Opening ribbon cutting
and champagne toast. The Ascuaga family, along with area dignitaries, will be on
hand to say a few words and host the toast. The event takes place on Monday,
March 17, at 1:30 p.m. in the West Lot.
Parking, of course, will be available and adjacent.
The lot
was reconfigured and supplemented with a freeway-exit slip ramp, new pavement,
walkways, lighting, music, surveillance and landscaping, while enhancing the
“feel” of the westbound exit from Interstate 80, to truly create a welcoming
feel for all visitors to the Nugget and the downtown/Victorian Square area of
Sparks.
Following
the commemoration, guests will be invited inside the Nugget for the casino’s
53rd anniversary celebration beginning at 2 p.m. Complimentary
entertainment and refreshments will accompany the birthday celebration.
