23 year old poker pro from Madison WI takes home $817,781 for first place AND his first WSOP gold bracelet!
The final table included four former WSOP gold bracelet winners (John Juanda, Phil Hellmuth Jr., Daniel Negreanu and Johnny Chan) - with 28 victories between them - but the dream match between Phil Hillmuth and Johnny Chan never happened - as Hellmuth ended up busting out in eith place and Johnny Chan ending up in fourth!
The 23 year old winner said..."It was such a tough
final table lineup," Galfond stated when asked about playing amongst so many big
poker names. "That's what makes winning
this so much better."
Chris "Jesus" Ferguson finished in 10th place just missing it to the final table. This marked his 54th career WSOP cash - which ranks him fourth in the all time race just behind T.J. Cloutier.
