Online poker site's pros claim eighth team bracelet at 2008
WSOP
For Full Tilt Poker's Rob Hollink, the 19th time
was the charm. After cashing in 18 previous World Series of Poker events
throughout his career, Hollink finally claimed his first WSOP bracelet by
winning the $10,000 World Championship Limit Hold 'em tournament.
Full Tilt Poker's pros have now won a remarkable eight bracelets through the
first 30 events of this year's Series, and have earned more than $7.7 million in
combined prize money so far.
Hollink secured his victory by outlasting an elite 217 player field, and
besting a final table that included Team Full Tilt's Andy Bloch, who finished seventh and collected nearly
$82,000 for his second final table appearance this year. Hollink entered
heads-up play against Jerrod Ankenman with the chip lead and played a patient
game, consistently chipping away at his opponent's stack.
In the end, Hollink, holding Ac-5d, raised Ankenman all-in and flopped top
two pair on a board of 4c-As-5h. The 3h on the turn gave Ankenman an inside
straight draw, but a harmless Qd on the river sealed the victory, giving Hollink
the bracelet and nearly $497,000 in prize money.
"Rob has been one of Europe's most consistent top performers," said Team Full
Tilt member Howard Lederer. "This win validates
his reputation as a feared competitor."
With Hollink's victory, the more than 100 pros who play on behalf of Full
Tilt Poker own a combined 90 WSOP bracelets.
