Monorail Kicks-off Summer Discount Ticket Promotion with Festive Memorial Day Events & Activities
In anticipation of historically robust summer crowds, the Las Vegas Monorail Company announced today that it will be offering a promotional summer fare for its one-day pass beginning Saturday, May 26. The kick-off of the Monorail’s special summer fare, and unofficial launch of the busy summer travel season, will include a host of Memorial Day entertainment, activities and contests for locals and Vegas visitors alike at participating Monorail stations located along the Strip.
The summer discount promotion represents a significant savings of more than 45 percent with the $15 all day pass discounted to just $8 per person. Las Vegas residents, who can always ride the Monorail with a special everyday fare of $1 for a single-ride ticket, will be able to ride for free during the entire Memorial Day weekend.
“Summer is a busy and popular season, and travel in Las Vegas is no different,” said Ingrid Reisman, vice president of corporate communications for the Las Vegas Monorail. “This year, the Monorail is kicking-off the summer season in style with the introduction of a discounted summer fare that will make riding the Monorail not only the most convenient way to travel along the Strip, but also cost-effective and air conditioned. As temperatures in Las Vegas soar to record-breaking heights, the Monorail’s discounted $8 One-Day Summer Pass offers just one more reason to stay cool and avoid the traffic congestion of the roadways.”
In true Las Vegas fashion, on Sunday, May 27 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., the Monorail will host a series of festivities in honor of Memorial Day and to introduce the new summer fare. Activities include contests and giveaways at all stations, appearances by “Elvis” with showgirls and various celebrity impersonators, magic and juggling acts, an airbrush tattoo artist, DJs, jazz and reggae bands, karaoke, a fashion show and opportunities to meet performers from top Las Vegas shows including “Menopause The Musical,” “Tony n’ Tina’s Wedding” and “Matsuri Japanese Acrobats.”
