MINNEAPOLIS (July 2008) — Target is partnering with renowned
designer Monica Botkier for its next limited-edition accessories collaboration.
As stylish as it is affordable, the Botkier for Target handbags line will be the
seventh collection in a series of limited-time-only accessories introduced by
Target. The line will be available at most Target stores and at Target.com July
20, 2008 through September 14, 2008.
Marrying luxury and utility with a
downtown edge, the Botkier for Target collection offers the latest trends at a
great value. The line includes a variety of chic silhouettes that encompass the
designer’s philosophy of using hardware as the “jewelry” of the handbag while
keeping a focus on functionality. The versatile collection includes clutches,
wristlets, satchels and hobos in basic black, bold fuchsia and luxe metallics.
Botkier incorporated the Target Bullseye logo as a signature hardware piece,
featured on the entire collection, which doubles as a removable key chain. The
exclusive Botkier for Target collection ranges in price from $19.99 to $49.99.
A native New Yorker, Monica Botkier began her career in the fashion
industry working as a photographer for several fashion magazines. Inspired by
her urban chic lifestyle and using her eye for detail, Botkier designed and
produced her first handbag collection, which became an instant success, in 2003.
Since that time, her eponymous collection has grown to include footwear and
continues to have a cult following in the fashion industry and among celebrities
such as Angelina Jolie, Jessica Alba, Lindsay Lohan, Joy Bryant and Kate
Bosworth.
