Check flight status before going to the airport; Use United's travel waiver to change travel plans; Log on to united.com to change an itinerary

CHICAGO, October 22, 2007 – For the convenience of its customers and in light of wildfires, United is offering advice for those customers beginning and ending their travel at many airports in southern California.

If customers would like to change travel plans, United is waiving certain change fees
For affected customers who would like to make a change to their travel plans, certain ticketing rules have been waived.   Rescheduled travel may be subject to higher fares if it does not meet original rule and booking-code restrictions or is a new itinerary.

These revised policies apply to all tickets purchased October 22 or earlier, for travel between October 22 and October 25, beginning and ending in many southern California cities, on any United®, United Express®, Ted® or United code-share flight. Origin and destination cities must remain the same, and rescheduled travel must be completed within 331 days of the scheduled travel date.

All changes must be made by midnight of the customer's original travel date.  United advises customers to log on to united.com to make a change to their itinerary or to call United reservations at 1-800-UNITED-1 or a travel agency.

Check flight status before going to the airport
Customers can minimize possible inconvenience by checking the status of their flights at united.com or calling 1-800-UNITED-1 (1-800-864-8331) for automated, up-to-the-minute flight arrival and departure information before leaving for the airport.  To receive United’s automatic updates via mobile phone or e-mail, customers may register for United EasyUpdate complimentary service at united.com.

United will continue to monitor the situation and adjust ticketing policies on united.com.
