SANTA ANA, Calif. – In anticipation of the nation’s most heavily traveled holiday weekend, John Wayne Airport (JWA) reminds travelers to plan ahead and arrive early at the Airport to ensure a safe and enjoyable holiday travel experience. The Airport has experienced record passenger levels this year and expects a busy Thanksgiving holiday travel period.
The busiest travel days are expected to be Wednesday, November 21 and Sunday, November 25, but travelers should be aware of an expanded travel window with holiday passengers traveling in higher than normal volumes between Friday, November 16 and Tuesday, November 27.
JWA offers the following travel tips:
1. Plan ahead – arrive two (2) hours prior to your flight departure time to find parking, check in with your airline and go through security screening. For flight information or more information about John Wayne Airport, log on to www.ocair.com or call 949.252.5200.
2. Pack Smart – know what items are accepted or prohibited through security and on the aircraft. Check www.tsa.gov for more information. As a reminder, gifts should not be wrapped as they are subject to search, even if placed in checked baggage. The TSA liquid restrictions remain in place; bottled water and liquids above 3 oz. are prohibited through security screening.
3. Parking – John Wayne Airport offers a variety of parking options. Terminal parking is available in A1, A2, B1 and B2, as well as via our convenient curbside Valet Parking. Remote parking is available at the Airport’s “Main Street” lot.
