Filmmakers Invited To Participate in 48 Hour Film Project

Networking Event Planned To Help Filmmakers Build Competitive Teams
The annual 48 Hour Film Project is returning to Las Vegas on May 30, giving local filmmakers the chance to write, shoot and edit original films over two adrenaline-charged days.
Filmmakers will build teams and create a film beginning at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 30, with a final version due to judges by 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 1. Each filmmaker receives a different genre, and then each filmmaking group is given the same character, prop and line of dialogue that they must work into their piece.
The Las Vegas event is sponsored by the 48 Hour Film Project and the city of Las Vegas Office of Cultural Affairs. Last year’s winning films will be shown at a networking social at the Downtown Cocktail Room, located at 111 Las Vegas Blvd., on Thursday, May 15, from 6 -10 p.m.
Other cities participating in this year’s project include Philadelphia, Boston, New York, Phoenix, Chicago, Atlanta, Miami, St. Louis and Denver. The winners of the contest will have a chance to have their film distributed nationally and could win film equipment.
