Silverton Casino Lodge teams up with Hot 97.5 FM and the city of Las Vegas to encourage local families to meet and “adopt” an airman from the 820th RED HORSE Squadron before they deploy to Iraq, Afghanistan and Qatar in August

On Saturday, July 19, Silverton Casino Lodge teams up with Hot 97.5 FM and the city of Las Vegas to encourage local families to Adopt An Airman. More than 100 airmen from the 820th RED HORSE Squadron deploying to Iraq, Afghanistan and Qatar in August will be at the event and available for “adoption”. Prior to the event, each airman will fill out a card with a brief self-description. Each family wishing to adopt someone will also fill out a card as they enter the event and will be randomly paired with an airman. Once deployed, families can show their appreciation and support by sending care packages and letters to their adopted airmen.
Adopt An Airman will also feature raffle drawings, food, prizes, giveaways, face painting, costume characters, jumpy-houses and more. While admission to Adopt An Airman is free to the public, a donation is suggested. Proceeds will benefit the Speedway Children’s Charities.
