$1,000,000 Prize to Winner Getting Closer as Competition Heats Up in Semifinals
LAS VEGAS, NV--(Marketwire - June 26, 2009) - MoTV, the company that has
produced the One World Hip Hop Championship (1WHHC) series that has been
broadcast on MTV2, announced today that it is cooperating with the network to
change its airing time of the semifinals of the contest from 2PM EDT Sunday June
28th to 9PM EDT Sunday June 28th so the network could accommodate the great
demand for all things Michael Jackson, following his tragic and unexpected death
yesterday.
It was also announced that because of the last minute change in time slots, a
special encore presentation of the Semifinal Round of the quickly emerging media
property would be broadcast next week at the 2pm slot on Sunday that loyal
viewers are accustomed to.
One World Hip Hop Championship has been gaining substantial traction within
the hip hop and music fan communities alike, following its last broadcast of the
quarterfinal round of 16 contestants. 12 will be eliminated in Sunday's
broadcast with 4 left standing for text voting by fans across the country to
determine who will face off in the finals.
A tour that will include the top 4 to 6 contestants with special guest hip
hop stars is already in the works and will be announced shortly after the
champion is crowned.
MoTV has reported an overwhelming response from the show by potential
sponsors, trademark inquiries, solid first year text vote totals, and other
specialty partnership opportunities.
There has also been a flood of emails coming into the company by rappers from
all over the world asking how they can enter season two of the show, slated to
begin shooting at the end of September of this year. The decision has been made
to allow registrations to begin immediately to handle the anticipated demand on
the companies IT staff. WWW.WORLDHIPHOPCHAMP.COM will launch
a full redesign shortly to assist in the effort.
