LAS VEGAS – December 3, 2007 – On Thursday, December 27, Sammy’s Woodfired Pizza and STOP DUI will unite to make New Year’s celebrations safer by asking diners to sign a pledge to not drink and drive during the upcoming holiday. Diners are also asked to designate a sober and responsible driver or take alternative transportation during New Year’s celebrations. Patrons are invited to any of the three Sammy’s Woodfired Pizza locations where they may sign a pledge card and in turn receive a free pizza card to use that day or on a future visit. Diners will also receive STOP DUI memorabilia as a promise reminder throughout the holiday and year to not drink and drive.

STOP DUI is a Nevada non-profit organization dedicated to stopping the violent crime of driving under the influence and assisting the innocent victims of this crime. STOP DUI advocates act as liaisons between the victim and the law enforcement community. The organization donates breathalyzers and also provides educational opportunities to local law enforcement agencies. Approximately 500 DUI offenders take part in the STOP DUI “Victim Impact Panels.” The program has a 92 percent success rate with deterring repeat DUI offenders.
