Endangered Humpback Chub Population Increases 50 Percent from 2001 to 2008
Adult endangered humpback chub (Gila cypha) in Grand Canyon, Arizona, increased by about 50 percent between 2001 and 2008, according to analysis recently conducted by... KATHERINE LANDING FISH CLEANER NOW OPEN The National Park Service has opened the newly constructed fish cleaner at Katherine Landing for public use. Construction on the new fish cleaner began in Feburary and lasted for about two months. Public comment period reopened on Arizona fish stocking program The public comment period for scoping has been reopened on Arizona’s sport-fish stocking program. Federal and state agencies are seeking assistance with identifying the extent and variety of issues that may be associated with fish stocking. Deadline approaching for public comments on fish stocking issues The Dec. 19 deadline is rapidly approaching for public comments on issues associated with all the sport-fish stockings in Arizona as part of a draft environmental assessment process being conducted by the Arizona Game and Fish Department and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
