Cyclones Claim Game 5

The Las Vegas Wranglers® were defeated by the Cincinnati Cyclones 4-0 in Game Five of the Kelly Cup Finals on Monday night in front of 6,957 fans at the Orleans Arena. Cyclones center David Desharnais handed out four assists and goalie Cedrick Desjardins made 27 saves for the win. Cincinnati now leads the best of seven finals series 3-2 and it will have a chance to clinch the Kelly Cup in Game Six at U.S. Bank Arena on Thursday night at 4:30 pm (PDT).
Cincinnati scored twice in the opening period as Jean-Michel Daoust and Cedrick Martin each scored in the first period. Daoust opened the scoring with his fifth of the playoffs at 3:57 for the 1-0 lead. Martin added a power-play goal for the 2-0 lead at 10:50.
The Cyclones added another goal in the second period. Forward Matt Syroczynski scored his seventh of the post-season at 3:24 for the 3-0 Cincinnati lead.
In the third period, Cincinnati scored its final goal of the night when Ryan Russell tallied his third of the playoffs at 10:37 for the 4-0 final.
The series swings back to Cincinnati for Games Six and Game Seven if needed. Game Six is slated for Thursday, June 5th at 4:30 pm (PDT). Game Seven would take place on Saturday, June 7th at 4:30 pm (PDT).
