The Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway will present the inaugural Battle of the Bullring on Saturday, May 17. Racing action on the 3/8-mile asphalt oval will include the SuperClean Modified Series, Mini-Stocks, West Coast Pro Trucks, Legends Cars, Bandoleros and Bombers.  In addition to the stock car racing excitement, fans will enjoy live music by California rock band Mama Hagglin and an on-track driver autograph session.  The midway area will feature a petting zoo and free pony rides for the young fans. There will be no increase in admission prices for this special show ($10 for adults).

Saturday's PolyDome 75 is the third event on the 2008 SuperClean Modified Series schedule and marks the first time the prestigious open-wheel series will visit the bullring. The race will start 24 cars and pays points toward the $25,000 year-end awards fund.  The 14-race series also travels to tracks in Calif. (Blythe and San Bernardino) and Ariz. (Tucson and Lake Havasu City). 

Current points leader Jimmy Dickerson of El Cajon, Calif., has won the first two events and is setting his sights on three-in-a-row at the Bullring.

"That (three-in-a-row) would be nice," said Dickerson, who finished third in SuperClean Series points last year.  "We've got a better car now and I think we have a pretty good shot at it."

Saturday also marks the first visit to the Bullring for the West Coast Pro Truck Series.  The series, which features fiberglass Ford F-150, Chevrolet Silverado, Toyota Tundra and Dodge Ram replicas, competes in Nev., Calif. and Ariz.  The trucks are powered by V-8 engines with automatic transmissions.  Ricky James of Murrieta, Calif., is the current points leader.

Spectator gates will open at 5 p.m.  The Bullring's concession stand offers a family-friendly dollar menu, featuring $1 hot dogs, $1 soda and $1 beer.  Nevada State Law prohibits smoking in the grandstands.
