TEAM CHEVY IMPALA SS INSIDE THE GARAGE AT NEW HAMPSHIRE MOTOR SPEEDWAY: ALBA COLON, GM RACING PROGRAM MANAGER NASCAR SPRINT CUP SERIES: “We are very proud to head to Loudon with six Chevy Impala SS drivers in the Chase. The improvement our teams have made throughout the season is the result of a tremendous amount of hard work. The GM Racing team has worked in tandem with the Impala SS teams to maximize all the tools available to improve our performance. The results of that cooperative effort are showing on the track and we are excited to make a charge for another Manufacturers' Cup, Owner's Championship and the coveted NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Driver's Championship.
"New Hampshire Motor Speedway is a fast, flat track with the long straights and tight turns. It is one of those tracks where the driver needs to have the right balance in the car to be competitive. It is a challenge for the crews to achieve the good cornering ability of a short track car and maximize the aero characteristics needed for an intermediate track. More than at some tracks, our Chevy teams will have to find the right balance of trade-offs to run up front.
"Chevrolet has won at New Hampshire more than any other manufacturer. We are looking forward to a strong showing on Sunday and a great kickoff to the Chase."

* JEFF GORDON, NO. 24 DUPONT IMPALA SS: “New Hampshire is a good track for us, and it has been for many, many years. I feel confident that we can usually come here without our ‘A’ game and still have a top-five car. Last year, we started off the Chase well with a second-place finish, and I hope we do as well this year.”
* JIMMIE JOHNSON, NO. 48 LOWE’S IMPALA SS: “I'm trying to show up at the New Hampshire race-scared, worried about 11 other guys, and worry about doing my part. And the thing is I have confidence in what my abilities are and what my team is capable of and the packages we have put together in the last five or six months - short track, big track, all of it. So you know, there's a lot of cars… you just never know what's going to happen. So I want to show up this week worried about all 11 of them and just do my job.”
* JEFF BURTON, NO. 31 AT&T IMPALA SS: "The New Hampshire track is a lot different and so is the competition. If you look at the way it is today versus eight years ago, it's way more competitive today. There are more good teams that are capable of winning races. At the same time, I certainly have high hopes going there. I’m real comfortable with the race track. However, we haven’t won a race there in years and we haven’t had the success that we need to have there. We’ve tested at similar tracks earlier this season so I’m going into this weekend’s race being optimistic.”
* KEVIN HARVICK, NO. 29 SHELL-PENNZOIL IMPALA SS: “Our flat-track program at RCR has always been solid. We look forward to going to New Hampshire and it’s a place we have a chance to win every time we go there. It’s a good place for us to gain momentum for the Chase. Clint won there last year and was able to give a pretty good run for the championship. At this point I don’t think there are really any favorites to win the championship. I think we’ve proven we can beat the No. 18 (Kyle Busch) and No. 99 (Carl Edwards) week after week. In my opinion, the No. 48 (Jimmie Johnson) is the car to beat right now. He’s been the fastest car on the bigger racetracks and there’s a lot more big race tracks than there are small race tracks in the Chase, and they’ve been good at Martinsville. So I think that the door is wide open to make something happen.”
* CLINT BOWYER, NO. 07 JACK DANIEL’S IMPALA SS: “Just having the confidence and knowing that you're a part of this Chase is a big, big momentum booster. But knowing now that we are in the Chase that we are going to New Hampshire where I won last year and we've run well there. Dover is a good track for us. These are two places where we can get things started on the right foot. And then going into Kansas the third race of the Chase, my home track where we almost won last year. These are good tracks for me in the Chase and it's time for me to pull out all the stops and go for broke. Now that you're in this thing, you owe it to everybody you don't want to be the 12th guy. We were the 12th guy coming in, and I want to be able to make sure that we're in this thing for a reason and not just to ride around.”
* DALE EARNHARDT, JR., NO. 88 AMP ENERGY/NATIONAL GUARD IMPALA SS: ‘If I have the best car, I think I can do it. Just like anything -- the car turning there in the middle is real important, but that seems to be real important everywhere this year. Hopefully we show up at New Hampshire and everything goes good. I don't know what it takes. It's just having a good car. I feel good about being in the Chase. We are going back to a lot of tracks we did good at like at the start of the season.”
