The Springs Preserve and Las Vegas Running Team Present Inaugural Nature Run

LAS VEGAS, NV - The Springs Preserve (Preserve) and Las Vegas Running Team partner to present the inaugural Springs Preserve Nature Run, a Channel 8 Community Pride Event, on Saturday, November 10, 2007. The race will take place on the Preserve's Trails where participants are surrounded by cultural, historical and natural landmarks of Nevada. Race start time is 7:00 a.m. for the 5K run /1 mile walk and 7:45 a.m. for the 10K run. Check in starts at 6:00 a.m.
As part of "Channel 8 Community Pride Day," Channel 8 will be giving away earth-friendly tote bags to the first 300 visitors to the Preserve that day. Individuals bringing five canned-food items to the Preserve will receive adult admission for $8.00 or free entry for a child (ages 5-17.) Donations will go to Three Square, an organization working to end hunger in Southern Nevada. In addition, SHRED-IT, the professional shredding company, will be onsite from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. to provide free shredding of material brought by visitors. Findlay Automotive Group will have a hybrid vehicle on display to demonstrate eco-friendly vehicle alternatives.
Springs Preserve Nature Run Registration Information
- Individuals interested in participating in the Springs Preserve Nature Run can download registration forms at www.LasVegasRunningTeam.com or www.Active.com. For more information, call Dan "The Running Man" Campbell at 702.450.4788.
- Registration fees are $25 if postmarked by Friday, November 2 and $30 if postmarked from November 3 through November 8. Individuals can register at the Preserve on Friday, November 9 between 11:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. and on race day up to fifteen minutes prior to the run for a fee of $35.
The Springs Preserve Nature Run will be separated into gender and age categories, with awards issued to the top three finishers in each division. There will also be ribbons for the top three overall Clydesdales and Fillies.
