Swedish car manufacturer Saab has announced the launch of a new Special Edition of its 9-5 model, set to be the best value premium car on the market

The new model, called the 9-5 Turbo Edition, features a number of added extras as standard combined with an even more attractive list price, making it an outstanding proposition to prospective customers. It makes use of Saab's fuel efficient turbocharged engine range, giving drivers the benefits of a larger engine without the usual drawbacks of extra weight, bulk and higher fuel consumption. There are two specifications available – the 9-5 Turbo Edition and the top-of-the range 9-5 Aero Turbo Edition.

The 9-5 Turbo Edition is offered with a choice of three engines – the entry-level 2.0t, the high power 2.3t and the economical 1.9 TiD diesel. New standard features include 17 inch, five spoke alloy wheels, leather sport seats heated both front and rear, electric driver’s seat, and headlight washers. Available in both Saloon and Estate bodystyles, and with manual or automatic transmission, prices for the 9-5 Turbo Edition start at just £19,995.

For those drivers who are looking for a high performance vehicle, the 9-5 Aero Turbo Edition is the answer. Offered with the 2.3T (260PS) engine - which goes from 0-60mph in just 6.5 seconds in the Saloon variant with a top speed of 155mph - the Aero model features DVD Satellite Navigation and dual electric seats, as well as the traditional Aero features including performance brakes, Bi-xenon headlights, metallic paint and sport chassis. Also available in both Saloon and Estate bodystyles, and with manual or automatic transmission, prices start from just £24,995.

All models continue to offer the standard features that already make the 9-5 a comfortable and reliable drive, including sport seats, Automatic Climate Control, Driving Pack (cruise control and car computer), electric windows, Night Panel function, CD player, anti theft alarm and immobiliser, rear parking assistance and many more.

The new 9-5 Turbo Editions also retain all the safety features of the Saab 9-5 including a five-star EuroNCAP safety rating, Saab Active Head Restraints (SAHR), dual-stage front and side airbags, Electronic Stability Programme and reinforced doors.

David Pugh, Marketing General Manager for Saab said: “The Saab 9-5 has long been a car synonymous with comfort, safety and performance. This experience and reputation combined with these exciting new features makes this car an attractive proposition for premium car buyers.”
