Next Tuesday (05/29) And Wednesday (05/30) During The Overnight Hours
Las Vegas Boulevard will narrow to one travel lane in each direction between Carson and Ogden Avenue next week during the overnight hours, for traffic signal modification work associated with the $5.5 million Fremont East District Streetscape Improvement Project.
So as to cause the least amount of disruption, this phase of work will take place during the approximate hours of 9 p.m. on Tuesday, May 29 continuing through 5 a.m. on Wednesday, May 30, and will resume at 9 p.m. Wednesday through 5 a.m. on Thursday, May 31. Pedestrian access will be maintained through the area while work is underway. Las Vegas Boulevard will reopen to full access during non-work hours.
Traffic lane restrictions remain in effect on Fremont Street between Las Vegas Boulevard and Eighth Street.
The Fremont East District Streetscape Improvement Project started in January and includes construction of a new Fremont Street featuring three blocks of unique streetscape between Las Vegas Boulevard and Eighth Street. Neon lighted gateways, neon elements placed in new median islands, decorative signage, expanded sidewalks, landscaping, lighting, banners and bronze medallions embedded in the sidewalks make up this project by the city of Las Vegas Department of Public Works. Las Vegas Paving is the contractor. Funding is provided by the city of Las Vegas, Las Vegas Redevelopment Agency, Fremont East Special Improvement District Assessments and the Nevada Department of Transportation Stewardship Program. The entire project is slated for completion in August.
