Starting Monday, September 17, and continuing through the next two
months, Valley View Boulevard will narrow to one travel lane in each direction
between Alta Drive and U.S. Highway 95.
This traffic flow change is necessary as a city of Las Vegas Field Operations
Department road reconstruction project begins. Crews plan to remove and repave
the roadway, reconstruct some median islands and install new road striping,
delineator buttons, crosswalks and signage.
As traffic delays can be expected, Decatur Boulevard and Rancho Drive are
suggested as alternate routes for through north-south travel while work is
underway.
Valley View should reopen to full access in November.
Funding for this $900,000 improvement project is provided by the city of Las
Vegas and the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada. The
contractor for this project is Southern Nevada Paving.
