Traffic delays can be expected when an $8.9 million flood control
improvement project gets underway on Lone Mountain Road next week.
Starting Monday, Sept. 24, and continuing through the next several months,
temporary traffic lane restrictions may be in effect on Lone Mountain just west
of Durango Drive. As work progresses, traffic lane restrictions will proceed
west on Lone Mountain to the 215 Beltway.
Work will take place Monday through Friday during daytime hours. Some
overnight work may be necessary on Lone Mountain to minimize daytime traffic
disruptions. Lone Mountain will remain open to one travel lane in each direction
while work is underway. Some side roads that provide access to Lone Mountain may
also temporarily be closed to through travel. Access will be maintained for area
residents and businesses.
As traffic delay and disruptions can be expected, Ann and Alexander roads are
suggested as alternate routes for through east-west travel.
Frehner Construction is the contractor for the project. Funding is provided
by the Clark County Regional Flood Control District and city of Las Vegas
sanitary sewer funds. The improvement project is slated for completion next
summer.
