Starting at approximately 7 p.m., Friday, July 11, and continuing
through the weekend, Jones Boulevard will be closed to traffic between Paseo
Montana and Sheila Avenue. Jones will reopen to access by approximately 5 a.m.
on Monday, July 14.
While work is underway, Michael Way, Rainbow Boulevard and Rancho
Drive/Decatur Boulevard are suggested as alternate routes for north-south
travel.
Traffic lane restrictions can also be expected as work progresses in the area
of Jones Boulevard and Peak Drive, just south of Cheyenne Avenue.
These temporary traffic disruptions are necessary as crews continue work on a
$4 million flood control improvement project. Construction started in February
and will take approximately 11 months to complete.
JNJ Engineering Construction, Inc. is the contractor for the project that is
being managed by the city of Las Vegas Department of Public Works. Funding is
provided by the Clark County Regional Flood Control District.
