The researchers of SplashData said the passwords on the list were leaked last year. “123456” and “password” is the most used password worldwide. These two are in top list from 2011.
As in past few years’ lists, Numerical passwords remain common, with six of the top passwords on the 2015 list is most used from few years.
Sports remain a popular password theme. While baseball may be USA’s activity, “football” has overhauled it as a general password. When it comes to movies and pop culture the most used passwords are starwars, solo, and princessas. All 3 terms are new entries on this 2015 list.
